Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

The Name "Naveh Tzedek"

This Study Bible was launched in 2014 in Jerusalem. While Jerusalem was given many beautiful names during the times, one name we especially loved. It was given in Jeremiah 31,23 and is translated in the KJV as "Habitation of Justice". The Hebrew words are נָוֶה (Habitation, or Fountain) and צֶדֶק (Justice).

This name expresses many things but furthermost the hope felt by Jews and Christians alike: That the Messiah will come (back) to Jerusalem and finally bring justice to this world.

The LORD bless thee, O habitation of justice, and mountain of holiness.

The Study Bible bases on the great MetaV Database by Robert Rouse. For this website we transformed it to a SQLite-Database which can be downloaded here. It is published under the Creative Commons Attribution Share-Alike license and you are free to use it and give it to others. All we ask is to let us know where you use it.
There are a whole lot of people during the ages who have collected and prepared the information of this database and we are greatly thankful for all their work. A special thanks goes out to for collecting the coordinates of all known places mentioned in the Bible.
